Before Walski gets too carried away with anticipating the results of today's General Election...
To all Walski's sisters-in-arms, wherever you may be, Happy International Women's Day 2008.
He has to admit that because of the busy-ness surrounding the GE, Walski was perhaps a little guilty of not giving this event more thought. Walski is pretty sure that he'll be getting a little flak from some of his "sistahs" out there...
But fret not, for Walski didn't forget... (it's also Samy Velu's birthday today, but he's not getting anything from Walski)
If you get a chance, check out the International Women's Day 2008 official website. They've got a great collection of videos, as well as a picture gallery of IWD 2008 activities from around the world. Malaysia, however, was missing from the photo collection...
No activity at all, or deferred for the elections? Walski can't tell, for sure. But in the NST today, there was a section, about 4 pages long, observing IWD. It was also an opportunity for Shahrizat to say a thing or three, being that she's the (caretaker) Minister for Women and Family Development. Walski didn't read the whole thing, by the way, so he doesn't know what was said.
Oh, and while you're surfing around, don't forget to pay Walski's blog sistah Marina M.'s post on IWD 2008...
And finally, Walski hopes that the women candidates in the General Elections are successful in their quest for office... in large numbers. No government should be without adequate representation of the other, and probably better half...
