Another kid goes MIA...

Technorati tags: , ,

Image taken from The Star, hosting by PhotobucketEven while the disappearance of Sharlinie still remains unsolved, another kid has been reported missing since Sunday. Muhammad Asmawi Jalaludin went missing from the Kampung Kerinchi area where he lives, as reported by The Star today.

Asmawi was last seen playing with his friends at one of the blocks of Kerinchi flats located about 200m from his house at about 5pm.

Brickfields acting OCPD Supt Azri Abdul Rahman said yesterday that the boy would usually play video games at the nearby premises with his friends.

He said Asmawi’s friends claimed that the Petaling Jaya SRK La Salle pupil had gone home at 6.30pm on Sunday.

The news report also stated that an SMS demanding ransom was received by the boy's father. Police have been able to trace from whom the SMS came from, but have not been able to track the person down.
(contact info, and more, in the full post)

Anyone spotting Asmawi or has information on his whereabouts should call the Rakan COP hotline at (03) 2115-9999, or SMS to 32728. The same news report in The Star has provided contact information for the boy's mother.

Unlike Sharlinie, this boy is much older. Which is worrying all on its own - how old does a kid need to be before he/she can be allowed to roam without close adult supervision. Peraps it's time parents gave their kids some common sense survival tips - like to not follow strangers, even when the stranger claims he/she is in need of assistance - go find an adult they know to attend to the stranger... you know, those type of common sense tips.

Walski prays that Asmawi is safe, and that his parents will see his return soon.
