FA Cup 5th Round (2): Will Liverpool march on?

YES - Absolutely YES!!

Today, Liverpool will host beat archrivals Manchester United in the English FA Cup 5th Round tie by the slimmest score of 1-0. It has been many, many years since Liverpool's won the tournament - last time was in 2001, a 2-1 victory over Arsenal at the Millenium Stadium in Cardiff.

Early in the first half, the mighty reds scored the only goal this season against Man U, scored by Peter Crouch's header, from a cross by Steve Finnan. And it turned out to be the match winner!

The last time Liverpool beat Man U in the FA Cup was in 1921 - 85 years ago! A very, very long wait over at last.

However, Liverpool this time managed to hold on to the slim one goal differential, and has successfully put away Manchester United - who now only have the Carling Cup to look to for any hopes of silverware this year.

Liverpool now advance to the quarter finals. Let's hope the Reds bring back the cup to Anfield, for the first time in 5 years, and the first of hopefully many, for Rafael Benitez.
