And you STILL don't think Malaysia is a fascist state?

Technorati tags: , , ,

Walski's pissed off. He is stark raving MAD at reading this piece of news.

A facet of a fascist state is the utilization of ridiculous trumped up charges, leading to arrest, and later release, of those who voice out against the state's ruling regime.

Nothing could be a better textbook example of fascist action than this bit of news, where members of the Bersih 2.0 coalition (who are calling for reforms in the electoral process) are now being charged with waging war against the King, and reviving communism.

It's one thing when this sort of bullshit comes from Ibrahim Ali, but when it comes from the Royal Malaysian Police, it just makes Walski's blood boil. What the fuck happened to a civil service that doesn't take sides?

Sorry to say this, but in carrying out this ludicrous act, PDRM is making it crystal clear that they only serve BN, NOT the people of Malaysia.

Bersih supporters nabbed for waging war against King

The police said today they are probing an alleged attempt by some Bersih activists to revive communism, and are investigating 30 Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) members, including Sungai Siput MP Dr Michael Jayakumar for “waging war against the Yang DiPertuan Agong.”

Deputy Penang police chief Datuk Abdul Rahim Jaafar was quoted by Astro Awani as saying today that remand orders would be applied for to detain the 30 activists under Section 122 of the Penal Code.

The law was used to prosecute militant terrorist group Al Ma’unah who were involved in an audacious arms heist at an army camp in 2000 and a tense stand-off in the jungles of Perak in 2000.

Under Section 122 of the Penal Code, “Whoever collects or attempts to collect men, arms or ammunition, or otherwise prepares to wage war with the intention of either waging or being prepared to wage war against the Yang di-Pertuan Agong or any of the Rulers or the Yang di-Pertua Negeri or abets the waging or the preparation of such war, shall be punished with imprisonment for life or imprisonment for a term not exceeding twenty years, and shall also be liable to fine.”

It is understood that the 30 activists were detained at the Sungai Dua toll plaza near Kepala Batas in Penang while on their way to attend a gathering in support of the Bersih rally planned for July 9.

Abdul Rahim said in Penang today that it was believed that the group was also trying to revive the communist ideology.

Clean vs. UnClean 2.0: What's the big fuss?

Technorati tags: , , ,

About a week ago, Walski posted Kee Thuan Chye’s analysis (via Amplify) about why the dude thinks Perkasa is so dead set against the Bersih 2.0 rally on July 9, 2011. If you haven’t read Thuan Chye’s article, go ahead and do so. Kee’s a much better writer than Walski could ever dream to be, so yeah, it’s definitely worth a read.

In any case, opposition to the rally is, by now, well known. And in the case of Perkasa and Ibrahim Ali’s opposition to Bersih 2.0, legendary. Ibrahim Ali’s claim of being misquoted (via The Malaysian Insider) even more so.

Image taken from Free Malaysia Today, hosting by Photobucket Latest development: a death threat received by Ambiga Sreenevasan (via Free Malaysia Today), Bersih 2.0 chairperson. And in case you’re one of those who believe that the death threats received by any individual against the status quo are made up for the sake of sympathy, the same text message was received by members of the press as well.

The text message, written in Bahasa SMS-alaysia, apart from the death-threat bit, essentially echoes what’s been said by various people opposed to Bersih 2.0 – if our elections weren’t already fair and clean, how could BN have lost Kedah, Kelantan, Penang, Perak (for a short while), and Selangor?

Fair question, to be honest. Walski’s response to that is the fact that the problems we have with our electoral system aren’t endemic to the point of being bogus. But there are problems with it for sure, and loopholes that can, and have in the past, been exploited. To Walski, Bersih 2.0 is not about who won or lost previous elections, but with the process itself.

But that point, it seems is lost on many who see Bersih 2.0 as being nothing more than an opposition ruse. Why? Because there are opposition politicians associated with it.

And such simplistic and simple-minded reasoning is the theme for this post.

Assume for a moment that Walski is very simple-minded and employs the same kind of Simple Simon logic – what is it that the anti-Bersih 2.0 folks are so anti about?
(Walski temporarily bins his reason and logic, and more, in the full post)

So, for the remainder of this post, Walski will argue employing the same kind of retarded reasoning he’s been seeing lately. And the basis of this dumbass and unreasonable analysis will be the 8 demands of Bersih 2.0.

[DUMBASS_MODE = ON]

Demand #1: Clean the electoral roll
The folks who are anti-Bersih 2.0 want to ensure that the electoral rolls aren’t accurate, and preferably, filled with the names and IC number of dead people. People die all the time – what’s the big deal if their legacy remains on the rolls? Plus, this makes easier the process of conjuring phantom voters. Having a clean electoral roll is problematic, because cheating becomes more difficult. And difficult is bad.

Demand #2: Reform postal ballot
The folks who are anti-Bersih 2.0 want to ensure that postal balloting remains the last-ditch Hail Mary touchdown pass at times when the count doesn’t look good for the incumbent BN (or Ibrahim Ali friendly) candidate. The postal ballot has been the seat-saver in many occasions, and should never be done away with. Or even reformed. Reform makes cheating more difficult. And difficult no good lah.

Demand #3: Use of indelible ink
The anti-Bersih 2.0 see this as wanting Malaysia to be in the ranks of 3rd world countries that employ this method of voter duplication avoidance. Nevermind  that in many ways Malaysia is 3rd world-like (simple example: our public toilets), because that is entirely beside the point. We are modern and therefore must employ modern methods like biometric fingerprint scanning. [DUMBASS_MODE = OFF] The use of fingerprint scanning is actually not a bad idea. Provided that known problems with the MyKad are solved. Our NRID card may be secure for the most part, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be tampered with. [DUMBASS_MODE = ON]

Demand #4: Minimum 21 days campaign period
Longer campaign periods are problematic for the anti-Bersih 2.0 regiment, as it only means more access to the voters by the opposition. And that’s not a good thing, especially in BN fortress locations, like FELDA settlements. FELDA votes belong to BN, the way it’s always been, and the way it should stay, happily ever after. These precious vote sources must never be tainted by the lies of the opposition.

Demand #5: Free and fair access to media
The mainstream print and ESPECIALLY electronic media are the exclusive play things of the government. God-forbid that these are accessible to the opposition. Or so the anti-Bersih 2.0 legion opines. Nevermind that in more civilized parts of planet Earth, the media is more independent and provides equal access. Malaysia is less civilized, and that’s the way it should stay. Bolehland Democracy translates to the ability to vote every 4 or 5 years. Period. The last thing the anti-Bersih 2.0 crew want is for true democracy to taint our beloved fascist way of life.

Demand #6: Strengthen public institutions
The anti-Bersih 2.0 mob see institutions like the Election Commission (EC), MACC, PDRM, the Judiciary, etc. to be part of the government machinery. And since the government is BN, these institutions must be subservient to the greater cause of keeping BN in power for perpetuity. Any claims that these should be independently allowed to operate is immediately seen by the anti-Bersih 2.0 peeps as an insult to the Malays and Islam. Yes, there is a deeper logic that enables this association. Ask #YoRais to explain sometime, if you’re curious how it works.

Demand #7: Stop corruption
The anti-Bersih 2.0 mob view corruption as our sacred way of life. And to facilitate this belief, they call it by other more benign names. Like charity, appreciation, and government project announcements during polls (what better time to do it, right?). Again, any affront to our sacred way of corruption life is a bad thing. It just makes life difficult, and forces us to work for our rewards, like other honest human beings elsewhere. Perish the thought! Oh, and it’s also an insult to the Malays and Islam to push for the eradication of corruption. Yes, again, ask #YoRais why this is so.

Demand #8: Stop dirty politics
The anti-Bersih 2.0 cabal love dirty politics. Simply put, mudslinging and sex scandals make their day. Life for them would be boring without dirty politics. The opposition must be shown to be traitors to race and country. Especially race – country is always secondary to these folks. So any call to stop dirty politics is a big no-no. It’s just unthinkable.

So there you have it – the anti-Bersih 2.0 posse simply cannot, and will not, stand for anything that makes society more equitable, and ensures that citizenship means the same thing for everyone. Voting cannot be any more fair, as it would disrupt the balance of society as we know it. Therefore for this horde, any support for Bersih 2.0 is an insult, worthy of counter-rallies, and violent-intentioned short text messages. That’s just the way things are, and forever shall they remain.

Will the real Ibrahim Ali please stand up?

Technorati tags: , , ,

Datuk Ariff Sabri, aka Sakmongkol AK47, gives a brief but very scathing look at who he thinks the REAL Ibrahim Ali is. And the revelation is less than pretty.

But are we surprised? Not really. What really remains surprising is the lack of comment from the Malaysian government.

Why is Ibrahim Ali given card blanche to say/do what he likes? Walski certainly doesn't know. But the government's not-so-elegant silence is truly deafening. It can only mean that what Ibrahim Ali says/does is condoned.

That's Malaysian politics for ya - if you don't wanna look bad, let some other stooge do your dirty work...

Here is the real Ibrahim Ali his supporters must know. Friend to Chinese Cukongs who has made hunting with dogs and running with the hare into a science.

We must know Ibrahim Ali for what he really is. A pompous and loud windbag out trying to establish his relevance in society.

In the late 1970s Ibrahim Ali used to be the head macai for Anwar Ibrahim. He would be present in many of the forums and debates at the University of Malaya. He was from ITM. He would sit at the back of the hall dressed in his trademark folksy dress( just like Anwar in those days) with the Palestinian headscarf normally associated with Yasser Arafat slung over his neck. At the end of each debating session, he would speak under the guise of asking a question about anything Islam. He would be shouting Maududi this, Maryam Jameelah that. On most occasions he would be ignored by UM students. Maybe he was out there to score with the UM freshies or UM students, who knows.

The award for Father of Fascist Malaysia goes to...

Technorati tags: , , ,

Being that it's Father's Day, Walski thought it be apt that this man gets an award for being the wonderful fascist that he is.

What kind of irresponsible asshole threatens violence, then has the cheek to say that he will not be held responsible for any untoward occurrences? Yup, only Ibrahim Ali can get away with such audacity.

And only the brain-dead could even consider this man their leader.

As Walski has mentioned more than once before, if you're against reform of the electoral process, such that it becomes truly free and fair, you are, in fact, anti-free and fair elections. It is as simple as that.

And so, the winner of the 2011 Father of Fascist Malaysia goes to...

Ibrahim raises spectre of May 13 at anti-Bersih rally launch

Perkasa kicked off its Bersih 2.0 counter-protest here in Kampung Baru today by burning images of Bersih chairman Datuk Ambiga Sreenevasan and issuing a warning to the Chinese to stays indoors as “anything could happen”.

Perkasa Datuk Ibrahim Ali, who earlier appointed himself “war general”, said if electoral reform coalition Bersih goes through with its July 9 rally, he will not be held responsible for any untoward incidents that may occur.

“Imagine if chaos erupts. If the Bersih rally is not cancelled...I believe the Chinese community will have to stock up on food,” he told some 500 supporters at Kelab Sultan Sulaiman here.

The magical stylings of #YoRais

Technorati tags: , ,

Walski dares say that even Harry Potter couldn't have conjured up a more magical linkage. And how are the cyber-attacks by Anonymous and the Bersih 2.0 rally linked?

We're not told, of course.

The nice thing about being a minister in Malaysia is that you can get away with saying the most ludicrously magical of things, without being required to produce evidence to back their claims.

Walski calls this "pulling facts out of thin air". In this case, performed by our most favorite of political dinosaurs.

Magical, simply magical...

Website attacks part of Bersih rally, says Rais

Information, Communications, and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Rais Yatim today expressed belief that yesterday’s mass attacks on local websites may be connected to the upcoming Bersih rally.

Today, Rais described the cyber attacks as politically-motivated and intended to disrupt the workings of the government, but did not provide details as to how the denial of service attacks were related to the July 9 rally pushing for electoral reforms.

Rais also said the cyber attackers will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law, and urged those involved to not damage the country out of anger towards the government.

Operation Malaysia, launched by the international hacker group known as Anonymous, had succeeded in bringing down its main target, malaysia.gov.my, at about 4am yesterday.

But it also spawned attacks on other sites, with the government stating that 60 per cent of the estimated 200 sites belonged to the federal administration.

Prior to conducting Operation Malaysia, Anonymous named the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission’s recent move to block file sharing sites like Pirate Bay and whistleblowers WikiLeaks as “inexcusable” acts of censorship that took away “basic human rights.”

Clean vs. UnClean?

Technorati tags: , , , ,

"Bersih" is a Bahasa Malaysia word that means 'clean'. It is also the moniker that's been chosen by the Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections to identify themselves with.

The recent Sarawak state elections has shown that elections in Malaysia are sometimes not 'clean', nor 'fair'. We won't get into the details of the various allegations of impropriety that have been in the wake of that state election, but suffice it to say, that there are kinks within the system that allow for what can only be called "voter fraud" to occur.

And that what Bersih, now in its edition 2.0, aims to correct.

But there are those who oppose this coalition of NGOs. It is a reasonable assumption to make that if one opposes something that is Clean, one prefers the UnClean.

In this excellent write up by Kee Thuan Chye, this question is posed, and dissected: why is Perkasa against Bersih?

Amplify’d from www.malaysiandigest.com

by Kee Thuan Chye

MANY people have come to regard Ibrahim Ali as a clown, including Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Nazri Aziz. One hopes Ibrahim was just talking like a clown when he recently announced that his organization, Perkasa, would oppose the planned Bersih 2.0 rally on July 9 by staging a counter-demonstration. “That means,” as he himself says, “on that day, there will be confrontation.”

This is militant talk. This is a threat to cause violence. And to add fuel to it, Ibrahim has pledge that in the event of a clash, “I will fight to the end”.

But why would Perkasa want to oppose the Bersih 2.0 rally? The rally has nothing to do with race – it is not demonstrating against Malay supremacy, which Perkasa was set up to defend. The rally is calling for electoral and institutional reform. It is calling for the electoral roll to be cleaned up, postal voting to be reformed, indelible ink to be used at elections, all political parties to be given free and fair access to the media, automatic voter registration, a minimum of 21 days for the campaign period, the strengthening of public institutions, a stop to corruption, and a stop to dirty politics.
Is Perkasa against free and fair elections?

Sakmongkol AK47: The silliness of claiming ownership on wrongs

Technorati tags: , , ,

Datuk Ariff Sabri, aka Sakmongkol AK47, asks a pertinent question - why does UMNO continue to defend the indefensible?

But the good Datuk has gotten one tiny bit rather wrong - UMNO already IS a dirty 4-letter word. Has been for a long time. Well, at least in the eyes of those who would rather think, than believe lock, stock and two smoking barrels of monkeys...

Amplify’d from sakmongkol.blogspot.com
SAKMONGKOL AK47
The problem with the UMNO goons is, they want to claim ownership on some indefensible issue. This is silly, because people will start viewing UMNO as an organization that stands on the side of abuse, of corruption, of mis-governance and as a party that practices discretionary and arbitrary laws. UMNO is fast becoming a dirty 4 letter word.
When someone criticizes the scandalous payments to IPPs, their criticisms were taken as attacks on UMNO? So what does UMNO support? UMNO supports some dubious arrangements to pay the IPPS horrendous prices when the same can be produced cheaper by TNB? UMNO stands for cavorting with the robber barons of today? The Anandas, the YTLS, The Berjayas, the Genting Lims- all friends of Mahathir. Mahathir isn't infallible.
Why should UMNO claim ownership on malpractices or claim ownership on possible corrupt practices? They should disown not own up.
This kind of stupidity will cost UMNO dearly in later years. UMNO should NOT take attacks on policies and on some issues of public concerns as attacks against the Malays or a Malay government. Perkasa doesn't speak for the Malays. It's not the only voice. Ibrahim Ali is no more Malay than I am or I am no less Malay than Ibrahim Ali.
Here is the problem with the IPP issue. People are questioning why the government finds it easy to withdraw subsidies from ordinary people but not that are paid to IPPs. This double standard raises the concern that the government protects the IPPs, coincidentally most created during Dr Mahathir's watch.

How Walski lost his Cool

Technorati tags: , , ,

He doesn't know exactly how it happened, or when, but Walski's lost his Cool.

Image taken from lemUSITA, hosting by PhotbucketAt least, he thinks he has. Gone – no longer cool. Dunno how or why, but he really thinks he’s lost it.

Maybe it's age, or maybe it's the over-exposure to the malignant race rhetoric of the many UMB-ecile fucktards he follows on Twitter. Yes, in part it's self-inflicted, perhaps. But whatever the case may be, Walski's lost his Cool.

And because he’s tried to engage these too-far-gone fellers – to no avail – perhaps it’s contributed to Walski no longer being cool. His own fault really – UMB-eciles simply want to remain the way they are, and stick to the way they think. Regardless of how facts usually fly in the face of their so-called “arguments”. Like a bouquet of brickbats.

But the UMB-eciles don’t care about facts – that’s one conclusion that Walski has arrived at, after enduring being called a bastard in more ways that you could imagine, and in more languages than he’d prefer. But that’s okay – stick and stones and all – no big loss. Except Walski’s Cool.

Maybe it's the fact that these days, it's not cool to be Cool. It's not kosher to think unlike the mainstream herd. It's unacceptable to go against the grain of the Borg-assimilated majority. It's just not "right" to have a differing viewpoint. It may be for some, or all of these reasons, but one thing is for sure - Walski's lost his Cool.

After all, Cool as we used to know it is no longer cool. And for that reason, more than any other, Walski is pretty darned sure he’s lost his Cool.
(uncool is the new Cool, and more, in the full post)

The world we live in has become much more superficialisticexpielidocious. And as much as the mainstream herd would like to think our nation should be insulated from reality, Malaysia hasn't been spared. Superficial is part of the new Cool. Being an asshole and a hypocrite? These days, that puts you in the ranks of the über-Cool. And you still think Walski hasn't lost his Cool?

And the manifestation of the new cool is everywhere – in social and mainstream media, in music, in the way most Malaysians drive, in the acceptance of how decrepit our nation’s become (and lovin’ it), and in the way most people choose to believe what they choose to believe.

Image taken from Celebrity Smack!, hosting by Photobucket

Drive around the highways these days, it seems like nine out of every 10 car drivers are too cool to use their indicator lights. Yes, they know where they’re going, so why bother, right? Yeah, that’s the new cool, and it’s mantra seems to be “the oyster is my world, and fuck everyone else”.

Recycled music put to a new hippity-hoppity drum and bass track become instant one-hit wonders, which are then played to death on commercial radio – that, too, is part of the new cool. Who needs talent when you’ve got marketing, right?

There used to be a time when creativity and intelligence made one cool. Walski, sad to say, has a little bit of both. And that makes him, by the current measure of cool, rather uncool. Being creative means being able to think non-mainstream. And because mainstream is the new cool, by that measure Walski can safely say that he’s lost his Cool.

Intelligence? Hell, that certainly ain’t cool. Not anymore. What’s cool is allowing others to think on your behalf – usually in an unsolicited manner. Thinking on your own accord is fast becoming a cardinal sin, probably soon to be added to the list of things that can get one’s ass slaughtered. Particularly when it comes to religion.

God said that there is no compulsion in religion (Quran Chapter 2 Verse 256), a long, long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away. Or it might as well have been, because the other gods seem to insist otherwise. And over the course of a millennium and a half, the voices of these living, and used-to-be-living, gods have overpowered that of God. No questions allowed. Lest you be deemed uncool. And because Walski holds His word in higher regard over theirs, Walski certainly has condemned himself to be in the category of one who’s lost his Cool.

You’ve all probably heard, or even used, the clichĆ© “thinking out of the box” at some point in your life. That phrase became clichĆ© because it used to be part of the then Cool. But it doesn’t seem to work that way anymore these days. Not in Malaysia at least. You can think out of the box, but your thoughts had damned well better be within the limits of the bigger box. Which, in a very obtuse way, kind of explains how ludicrous things like the lopsided IPP contracts (via The Malaysian Insider) we have to live with today could have been signed. And those were inked in the 90s. Two decades later, guess who’s still paying for that bit of cronynomics?

Those who harp on it, though, are probably considered uncool by today’s standards. By the mainstream at least. No, being today-cool means that you get reamed by the increasing cost of living, say “thank you”, then ask “can I have some more, sir?”. To be elevated to the ranks of the über-cool, however, you need to be the one doing the reaming, or at the very least be associated with the reamers in some way, shape or form.

And being that Walski is one of those who does harp on the opaqueness of these (and other) lopsided contracts, it’s another reason why he’s pretty sure that he’s lost his Cool.

But has all this changed Walski’s worldview? In a nutshell, No. And by today’s standards, it’s not a very cool nutshell.

Image taken from Uncool is the new COOL, hosting by PhotobucketThat said, he’d rather lose his Cool, than to adopt the new cool. That’s just how Walski rolls. You might think he’s “cool” for being that way, but mainstream would probably disagree.

A word of advice: being today-uncool is taxing on one’s mind and psyche. Walski wouldn’t wish it on his enemies, much less his friends. Not even on the new-cool assholes and über-cool hypocrites.

You’ll be loathed by the mainstream, hated by the today-cool, and despised by those who prefer to not stick out like a sore thumb. Like Walski knows how he is frequently hated, loathed and despised.

Which is also how he knows, for damned sure, that Walski’s totally lost his Cool.

Malaysiakini: Women to form 'make wives obedient' club

Technorati tags: , , ,

Betcha this will make global news in due course, once again making Malaysia known the world over. Once again, for all the wrong reasons.

Sometimes, the only ones to blame for Islam getting a bad name, are the Muslims themselves, and this is a prime example.

The kind of logic at work here is truly mind-boggling. First, these women are convinced that women are entirely responsible for the social ills that they speak of. The men? Blameless.

Oh, well, if they want to see themselves, once married, as not much more than progeny-producing sex slaves, so be it.

Amplify’d from malaysiakini.com
Blaming wives for infidelity and almost all other weaknesses of men, a polygamous movement is launching a club to make wives obedient and submissive, so as to make their husbands a happy lot.
Global Ikwan Sdn Bhd, an off-shoot of the banned Al-Arqam movement, is launching 'The Obedient Wife Club' in what it claims to be a move to change wives to be better persons.
malay muslim islam women
"We want to share with them, so that they will return to play their roles, that is, as their husbands' lovers who will always be there to obey, serve and entertain their husbands," Global Ikwan's spokesperson Maznah Taufik said in a statement yesterday.
Two years ago, the movement successfully launched the Polygamy Club of Malaysia.

(more of this mind-boggling news item in the full post)

Maznah said in this age, with the era of science and technology gripping society, wives did not deceive their husbands. They were loyal, but did not know how to satisfy their husbands.
"When husbands come home from work, wives do not welcome them with warm alluring smiles and sexy dressing sprayed with beautiful fragrance to stimulate sexual arousal - but with stale saliva. This is the reality today.
"Much of the problems in society are caused by disobedient wives who do not bring joy and happiness to their husbands and do not serve their husbands well," she said.
Happy husbands won't abuse wives
Maznah said a husband who was happy, cheerful and contented because he was fully fed with obedience, service and entertainment from his wife would not be cruel to his wife and women abuse would thus not happen.
"He will not go for prostitution, will be a responsible husband in all matters. It is on this ambition that we, the women in Global Ikwan, set up this club," she added.
She said the authorities had spent so much time, effort and money to overcome the problems of women abuse, rape, sexual harassment, prostitution and trading in women - but all of these had been futile.
"Prostitution continues to increase and has become a source of business. Either it is done openly or in the form of businesses that encourage such things as nightclubs, striptease joints and the like. It is not only women who become victims, but also men.
"Husbands look for prostitutes, while not a small number of women look for gigolos. The family institution, which is hoped to be a heaven before heaven, or my home my heaven, merely remain slogans. Where can we find men and women as loyal as Romeo and Juliet?" Maznah said.
She said what could now be seen were strained couples who were neither satisfied with each other, with wives disobeying their husbands and the husbands being irresponsibl
"Wives who they hope will be angels have become annoying queen-control persons. Husbands become so shaggy, their minds are deeply disturbed and their souls unsettled.
"Imagine, if such an entangled husband is the prime minister, head of the army or an important decision maker for the country? It will be disastrous.
"So, the solution is for the wives to change for the better, by being obedient," Maznah added.
The club will be launched at the Perangsang Golf Club at Templer's Park in Rawang on Saturday.

A compelling case for Change

Technorati tags: , , ,

A couple of days ago, Walski posted something called “Dear Mom & Dad, What’s My Future?”. It asked some pretty difficult questions, which Walski admitted he couldn’t answer.

The video was produced by Malaysians4Change and complements a few other videos you can find on YouTube. The video below is one of them, and it does provide some food for thought.

And if you thought that the video is interesting, watch the next one.
(second Malaysians4Change video, and more, in the full post)

Think of the video you watched earlier, and the next one, as the Red Pill Malaysians need to consider, side by side with the Blue Pill.

These videos aren’t exactly new, and Walski is probably guilty of being up to speed (they came out sometime in the later part of 2010).

Like everything else we read and see/hear, Walski thinks these videos should be analyzed and pondered over critically. While the information contained within may not be 100% accurate, the videos do point to one glaring fact: under current management, the nation is at risk of heading towards becoming a failed state.

This situation, obviously, needs to change.

But let’s not kid ourselves. Change, as much as it is needed, is not something that’s easy to achieve. UMNO/BN’s stand, post-March 2008, has been that change from within is better than regime change. So far, three years on, that promised change from within is not meeting expectations. At least, it’s not meeting Walski’s.

What Walski sees instead is mixed-message confusion, born in part out of panic, and in part out of continued denial that UMNO/BN can do no wrong. 1Malaysia, while okay in concept, is fast degenerating into another exercise in sloganeering. A very expensive one at that.

PM Najib says some pretty good stuff, Walski admits. But the reality of UMNO/BN, in what it says and does, virtually spits back in Najib’s face. Kind of like a game of good cop, stupid cop. To be fair, there are some sane voices within the coalition. These voices, unfortunately, are usually drowned out by the din of those desperate to remain in power.

In any case, the two videos present some compelling reasons why change is necessary. The question is, are we willing to change? And more importantly, are we willing to endure the difficulties that usually accompany change?

To Walski, the answer to both is YES. But that’s just Walski.

Spirit of moderation animated

Technorati tags: , , ,

Esteemed Federal Constitution scholar and expert, Prof. Shad Saleem Faruqi, sets the record straight, lambasting the politicians who have misinterpreted the Constitution's contents for political mileage.

The good professor outlines 3 of the misconceptions currently held as "truth". But whether or not those guilty of forming and spreading the misconceptions will cease and desist is another story altogether - they're not exactly the sharpest tools in the shed, and usually fly in the face of facts, opting instead to dearly hold on to their misconceptions.
