Opinion Poll: Sarawak State Elections 2011
Technorati tags: Opinion Poll, Sarawak, State Elections, Politics
Way too long… that’s the answer to the question of how long it’s been since the last myAsylum opinion poll.
So to remedy that, here’s the latest poll: What do you think will be the outcome of the 2011 Sarawak State Elections?
Of late, there has been a lot of talk about this upcoming 10th state election. Also being talked about: the many issues surrounding the state of Sarawak. Key among them are the issues surrounding Native Customary Rights laws (pertaining to customary land), and the immense wealth of the current Chief Minister and his family.
Many consider Sarawak as BN’s “fixed deposit” when it comes to parliamentary seats – there are 31 parliamentary constituencies (via mySinChew) in Malaysia’s largest state geographically.
Arguably, many are of the opinion that how the state election pans out is indicative of how the voting will go when it’s time for the next General Elections. That said, not everyone agrees that this is the case.
What Walski personally thinks is that the outcome of this state elections will have a bearing on the timing of the next General Elections, and not necessarily the results.
But enough about the background information, and on to the poll itself.
If you’re not familiar with the polls conducted by this blog previously, there are a few simple ways for you to cast your vote:
- Here on the blog itself – the poll is located on the right sidebar
- Via the Polldaddy poll site
- Via your OWN blog/website, by share-hosting this poll (see full post for how)
The poll will be open until Midnight, April 15, 2011, the eve of the elections.
(poll sharing, and more, in the full post)
As with previous polls, feel free to post it on your own blogs. If you use the Blogger platform, simply click on the Add to Blogger icon below the poll. If your blog is hosted by Wordpress, simply use the following shortcode: [polldaddy poll="4836530"]. If your blog or website requires the Javascript code, leave a comment to say that you need the code, and Walski will get it to you ASAP.
The reason why Walski encourages and facilitates the sharing of myAsylum polls? Simple: the more people participate, the more accurate the results. Or at the very least, the results will closer reflect what Malaysians in general think of what they foresee as the outcome.
Once the poll closes, Walski will do his best to put up a result summary, hopefully before the actual elections get underway on April 16, 2011. Just to pre-warn you, however, that he will be away on business at the time, but will try his best nevertheless.
So cast your prediction vote, and feel free to tell your friends, family, and neighbors to join in the opinion casting fun!
