RPK arrested under the ISA

If you were wondering whether it would happen or not, wonder no more. The Empire has struck back...

Raja Petra Kamaruddin was arrested earlier this afternoon under the Internal Security Act, which allows indefinite detention without trial. ISA - that convenient tool for poltical domination, when all else fails.

The "crime"? For allegedly insulting Islam and the Prophet Muhammad. The accusers? Several government Islamic agencies, which had earlier filed a police report against RPK, based on two articles written, "I promise to be a good non-hypocritical muslim" and "Not all Arabs are descendents of the Prophet".

The irony? A law that is against any tenet of justice, much less justice according to Islam, being used against someone for allegedly insulting Islam.

Well, if that's not irony, Walski doesn't know what is... Or maybe there's an even simpler explanation...

Yes folks, what we have here is a case of 100% unadulterated bona fide hypocrisy.

Anyone who's even bothered reading the two articles would know that. There is absolutely nothing in the two articles that is insulting to Islam or the Prophet. Not by any stretch of the imagination - and Walski has a very active imagination.

RPK has been very critical of UMNO (gee.. who hasn't). The Islamic bodies, namely Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim), Yayasan Dakwah Islamiah Malaysia (Yadim), Federal Territory Islamic Religious Council (Maiwp) and Federal Territory Religious Department (Jawi), are all partially or fully government funded.

Any idiot can see that these agencies are being used by the government to intimidate dissent. There is absolutely nothing Islamic about this action against RPK. In colluding with the powers that be, these agencies have taken a cue from the government, and scored an own goal against their own credibility, and have also shown how hypocritical some Muslims can be.

Ironically, exactly what RPK has been saying all this while... definitely a far cry from the Islam revealed through the Quran.

One day the government calls for the lifting of the ban on Malaysia Today, the very next day, RPK gets arrested under the ISA. The flip-floppery of a lame duck government continues with gay abandon...

Walski will post more updates on RPK's arrest as and when any new information surface... but one thing he can tell you is that he is not pleased one single bit.

At the end of the day, it's UMNO/BN scrambling desperately using everything and any means possible to cling on to power. And that's what it's all about folks - power.

And maintaining that power through any methods possible, even if it means becoming hypocrites in the process.

As every Muslim knows, God loves the hypocrites... NOT!
