that anonymous person might just have a point (but no kudos for being obsessed about it being 20 MINUTES not 15 MINUTES!)

The way I see how people are commenting here, it skews to "the government is not doing anything in benefit of PR/oppostions side especially so in the media". But change cant happen overnight, it is not possible for RTM to start having the news about PR's activities now, what'd you expect? But if you look on the bright side, they *are* giving in bit by bit. So instead of whining that it is not fair, appreciate what they are doing and THEN why not write to RTM or Shabery or something and press THEM. That'll make a difference instead of writing comments here. It's called psychology people ;)

dear anonymous, a.k.a. time-police, maybe programme is minutes minus commercial time? Complain is not a bad thing.Don't tell me you've never complained to your parents when you don't like something. It shows that people understand verbalizing their thoughts and disheartments, unlike the normal bad habit of bottling it up inside and the next thing you know, people go run amok for reasons not made known.

First of all the programme is 20 minutes n not 15 minutes? where you guys gets the facts? (maybe never watch n just complaint). Programme starts at 8.40 and ends at 9.00pm. is that 15 minutes aaaaa?, sapa ajar math? Secondly, it seems that some guys just cannot appreciate things given n just wants to complains and complains.... last time they said if given 30 second on tv for good thing from blogs also good enough. Suddently when given 20 min still complaining. When rtm show news at prime time of YB Rembau about 1 and a half minutes, people said too long. But when show bloggers 20 minutes in prime time at news time, its too short..... why aaaaa.

Bu tanywho, you've gotta give them credit to invite these bloggers on national tv, knowing pretty well that they are, well anti-government. They are giving bloggers a chance for their 15 minutes of fame :D Ok what?

But yes, 15 minutes is too short time. But i think it's good also because unlike us regular people on the net and on blogs, I bet half the population in malaysia have no idea what is the darned fuss over all these "blogs". SO it's good that they are trying to promote awareness, and the Blog tv show (although very uninteresting) is a start in a good direction.

So to the next batch of bloggers being invited, step up and make FULL use of this live broadcast and speak what you want, chances like these dont come often. ;)

I only managed to catch the one with RPK in it, and it absolutely disgusts me. There was no time for RPK to even put a point across fully, let along have any kind of discussion about it.

I've worked in the advertising and electronic media industry before and I know how long it takes for a guest on a show to prepare to go live. Hours of precious time wasted just for 15 minutes of crap!

Although this is a good venue for bloggers to engage the mainstream media, I suggest bloggers boycott appearing on the programme until RTM make a concerted effort to improve the quality and allocate more airtime to it.

actually, i took my participation quite seriously but 15 minutes was really short. you can't do justice in discussing a single issue in that time.

Be careful who they term "opposition" now. In four states in Malaysia, BN is now the "opposition" :->

It's a classic example of the RTM bunch/government media. "lets do something to show we are reaching out to the bloggers, don't care whatever it is for, but it'll look good on us". That's the attitute. Why do you think the government sector hold so many meetings and nothing gets done, for THAT amount of meeting undertaken. Just an excuse to get around to drinking coffee on working hours while showing people that they are trying to do something, whatever that something is. Why the hell do you think many of us left the government sector. Too much of Hogwash served on a silver platter.

1- The people handling that program wanted to get even with bloggers - this already in 4th.round of "mainstream vs alternative media". Intrinsictly,t hey felt embarrased after being wagged hard by the second and third bloggers previously.(This is obvious when Hashim, previous host chosed not to shake hand with Sang Kelembai(the blogger)at the end of previous show,instead the later took the initiatives to extend his to the host after a while). 2- This is unprofessional and unfair to Nuraina, as she attended the program in good faith.

Too bad..in the true sense,RTM will never learn.

I know he belongs to the old school and probably doesn't have a blog but having been a reporter/editor, he surely can add some depth to the show. galadriel - if you've got other things to do with 15 minutes at 8:45pm on a Sunday evening, then yeah, it's definitely not worth it. For now, anyway. IMHO, if RTM really wants to improve, they've gotta stop behaving like a governmental department, and start acting like a real electronic media outlet. Kinda like how the BBC has evolved into a world-class outfit. It's a painful process, but a necessary one unless they wanna be defunct one day...

I have mentioned this b4 at Nuraina's blog....RTM would rather spend 90 mins on a program called Rentak Juara (aired after Blog). Better to watch some mat Rocks (have nothing against rock) than add more airtime to anything which resembles an intellectual discourse.

Tak payah nak complain, some things will just not change. Babi will makan sampah sarap, and rtm will continue to churn out sampah sarap...especially those that do not conform to their set of `ideals'.
